2009-10-31 - HellHouse V, The Vernon Club, Louisville, KY October 31, 2009 Through me you pass into the city of woe: Through me you pass into eternal pain: Through me among the people lost for aye. Location: Vernon Club Louisville, KY As with every year, HELLHOUSE makes every effort possible to bring you the very best in electronic music from both a historical and modern perspective. We've been honored to host such amazing talent as Matthew Dear, DJ Hyperactive, Derek Plaslaiko, Atomly and more. This year is no different, and we've gone out on a limb to include two headliners that are well known around the world. This will be a night for the history books. Louisville is never this privileged to get this caliber of talent in one night! rom the good ole' days of DROP BASS and EVEN FURTHUR: Woody McBride aka DJ ESP American elektro-shaman, Woody McBride, aka DJ ESP, rocks the world with his unique style of tribal techno, acid house, elektro, ambidelics, hardtek and authentic old school minimal electronic music. ESP released a new mix album in March 2009, a new release on Dave Clarke's label White Noise, he is ranked conistently among the top American International DJs, his mastery of techno, acid and minimal production continues to evolve at light speed, his live PA performance at the legendary Mayday Festival Germany was spectacular, he re-launched his foundational American record label Communique Records on vinyl worldwide and digitally as a featured artist via Beatport.com, he is booked weekly around the planet and does a pioneering and futuristic dance mix show and CD for America's premier alt-public radio station - 89.3 FM The Current broadcast from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota in the United States. djesp.com | MySpace | discogs.com | Link to DJ Mix Stewart Walker (live) Persona :: Tresor :: Minus (Berlin) Berlin-based Stewart Walker is a restless innovator. After making a splash in the late nineties on definitive labels like Force Inc. and Tresor, he's had an inestimable impact on the development of current club sounds, yet consistently chooses the less traveled road: working as live producer in a world of DJs; injecting emotion into functional electronic dance music; quietly building a label family of unclassifiable artists on his own imprint, Persona. 1999 saw Walker's debut on Berlin's Tresor Records with Nothing Produces Stark Imagery, followed up by the now-classic minimalist experiment, Stabiles, on Mille Plateaux. These productions proved to be seminal in the development of minimal techno. Walker continued to release on labels such as Minus and Force Inc. until, in 2001, he set up his own imprint, Persona Records. Persona released eleven records in the US culminating in the second landmark album of Walker's career to date: Live Extracts (2003). Live Extracts captured the sound and atmospherics of Walker's in-club performances and was soon licensed by Tresor. Persona restarted in 2005, this time in Berlin. Now based in Europe, Walker performed in every capital and made incursions as far afield as Australia and Russia. Soon after, he released the downtempo album Grounded in Existence and a breakbeaty techno EP, Travel Plaza. These releases showcased Walker's increasing attention to nuance, dynamics, and melody. Concentricity, Walker's fourth full-length, was released in 2007.
